In 1949,
This Little gold with red trim train station began as a movie set designed
by Ward Kimball for the Disney Movie 'So dear to my heart,. When the movie
shooting was finished Walt Disney gave Ward the Station to be housed on
his property. Since the Station was a set, it was quite flimsy for pratical
use blueprints were drawn up for it and many countless hours were spent
building it up to it's present sturdy form. It now houses a wonderful
and extensive collection of antique steam train books, prints and photos,
stereograms, a working pot belly stove and even a model of itself.
Still
to this day, every so often passenger a waits here for the next train.
